TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER - LEWES ROAD, NATAL ROAD, THE HIGHWAY, SOUTHALL AVENUE, BRIGHTON
1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when it comes into force will be done in phases and only have the following effect as and when signed:-

Phase One - Installation of new staircase 22nd - 23rd January:
(a) The temporary suspension of the southbound Bus Lane Order along Lewes Road from a point 230m north of its junction with Natal Road southwards to its junction with Coombe Road.

(b) The Temporary prohibition of the right turn movement from Natal Road into Lewes Road.

(c) The temporary prohibition of the right turn movement from Lewes Road into Natal Road.

(d) The temporary prohibition of the right turn movement from The Highway at its southern access onto Lewes Road.

(e) The temporary closure of Saunders Park View north access at its junction with Lewes Road.

Phase Two - Installation of new bridge across Lewes Road 23:59 28/01/2022 -05:00 31/01/2022
(a) The temporary closure of Lewes Road, Brighton between the northern kerb edge of Coombe Road and a point approx. 60m north of the junction of Natal Road.
(b)The temporary closure of Natal Road, Brighton at its junction with Lewes Road, Brighton
(c) The temporary suspension of the One-Way Order for the entire length of Southall Avenue, Brighton to maintain access.
2. The Order is necessary to allow Contractors to install a staircase and bridge across Lewes Road as part of the Brighton University Development.

3. A signed diversion for vehicular traffic will be in place where needed.

4. This Order comes into force on the 22nd January 2022 for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed.
