Barnet Road/Great North Road/Wagon Road, Temporary Road Closures/Waiting Restrictions

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:


(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN A1000 (BARNET ROAD/GREAT NORTH ROAD) AND WAGON ROAD, BARNET) ORDER 2022
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads") and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of A1000 (Barnet Road/Great North Road), Barnet from its junction with Dancers Hill Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 1702m.
An alternative route will be via A1000 Barnet Road, A111 Southgate Road, M25, A1081 St Albans Road and A1000 (High Street/Great North Road/Hadley Green/Hadley Highstone/Great North Road) or via A1000 Barnet Road, A111 (Southgate Road/Stagg Hill/ Cockfosters Road), A110 (Cat Hill/Brookhill Road/East Barnet Road/ Station Road/Barnet Hill) and A1000 (High Street/Great North Road/Hadley Green/Hadley Highstone/Great North Road).
2. that length of Wagon Road, Barnet from its junction with Dancers Hill Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 1340m.
An alternative route will be via Dancers Hill Road, A1000 Barnet Road, A111 (Southgate Road/Stagg Hill) and Wagon Road or via Wagon Road, A111 (Southgate Road/Stagg Hill/Cockfosters Road), A110 (Cat Hill/ Brookhill Road/East Barnet Road/Station Road/ Barnet Hill), A1000 High Street, A1081 St Albans Road and Dancers Hill Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 April 2022 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

A copy of the proposed Orders may be inspected free of charge at County Hall, Hertford between the hours of 9am and 5pm (excluding weekends, bank and public holidays).
