ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT 1981
NOTICE is hereby given that a Public Local Inquiry in connection with the Order mentioned below will be held by an Inspector appointed for the purpose by the Secretary of State for Transport at Royal Air Force Museum London, Grahame Park Way, London, NW9 5LL on 28 March 2017 to the 31 March 2017 and 4 April 2017 to the 7 April 2017, starting each day at 10:00am to hear representations from remaining objectors (as defined in the Compulsory Purchase (Inquiries Procedure) Rules 2007), from any other persons having an interest in the land the subject of the Compulsory Purchase Order and, at his discretion, to hear representations from any other persons who may desire to appear and be heard.
THE ORDER is an Order which has been made by The London Borough of Barnet under the above-mentioned Acts and submitted to the Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation and is:-
THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET (WEST HENDON MAJOR HIGHWAY WORKS) COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDER (No.2a) 2016
This is an Order under Sections 239(3), 240(2)(a), 246(1), 250(1) and 260 of the Highways Act 1980 which, if confirmed, will authorise The London Borough of Barnet to purchase compulsorily the land and the new rights
for the purpose of:
(i) The improvement of certain highways in land, that include the removal of Perryfield Way gyratory and Herbert Road gyratory, widening of
Station Road together with other associated, highways, junction and
public realm improvements;
(ii) The use of the land in connection with such improvements;
(iii) The mitigation of any adverse effect which the existence or use of the
improved highways would have on their surroundings;
in connection with the development, redevelopment or improvement of the land at West Hendon.

The Public Inquiry will be held jointly with the Department for Communities and Local Government and will consider THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET (WEST HENDON REGENERATION AREA) (NO.2) COMPULSORY PURCHASE ORDER 2016 which has been submitted for confirmation to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.
