FINAL DEMOLITION NOTICE WEST HENDON REGENERATION PHASE 4 FINAL NOTICE OF INTENTION TO DEMOLISH PROPERTIES AT WARNER CLOSE AND TYRREL WAY WEST HENDON LONDON NW9
Under Schedule 5ofthe Housing Act 1985 as amended
NOTICE IS HEREBYGIVEN that the London Borough of Barnet of the of Barnet House 1255 High Road Whetstone London N20 0EJ ("the Council") intends to demolish Nos. 17, 21, 26, 36, 49, 60 Warner Close London NW9 7QN and Nos. 36, 62, 63, 64, 70, 77, 78, 79, 82, 83, 84, 87, 93, 94, 95, 98, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 108 Tyrrel WayLondon NW9 7QP ("the Relevant Properties").The reason for the intended demolition is to allow for the building of new homes and other facilities as part of the phased redevelopment of the West Hendon Estate London NW9.
The Council intends to demolish theRelevant Propertiesonorbefore 20thFebruary 2020. The Council shall serve this Final Demolition Noticeonthe Relevant Properties on or before 22nd February 2018. These notices willcome intoforce on 23rdFebruary2018 andwill cease to be in force on 21st February 2020 being no more than 2years fromthe date of serviceofthis Noticeand beinga reasonable period within whichtocarryout theproposeddemolition. Whilst this Notice is in force the Right to Buy does not arise in respect of any dwelling house forming part of the Relevant Properties and the Council will be under no obligation to make such agrant as is mentioned in section 138(1) of the Housing Act 1985 in respect of any claim to exercise the Right to Buy Any existing claim to exercise the Right to Buy in respect of any dwelling house forming part of the Relevant Properties will cease to be effective on the Notice coming into force. There may be aright to compensation under section 138C of the Housing Act 1985 for certain expenditure incurred in respect of any existing Right to Buy claim that has been exercised.
