LONDON BOROUGH OF HARROW THE HARROW (BUS PRIORITY) (EXPERIMENTAL NO.1) TRAFFIC ORDER 2019
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 11th March 2019 the Council of the London Borough of Harrow made the above titled order under Section 9 and 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and under all other enabling powers.
2. The Harrow (Bus Priority) (Experimental No.1) Traffic Order 2019, creates a bus only route in College Road, Harrow, at its junction with Headstone Road and College Road. Local buses, taxis and cycles only, will be permitted to enter College Road at its junction with Headstone Road.
3. Exemption will be provided in the order for:-
(a) any vehicle being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes in an emergency;
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform, or a Council officer authorised by the Council;
(c) any person who causes any vehicle to proceed in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed pursuant to Section 66 or Section 67 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984;
4. A copy of the order which will come into force on 1 st April 2019, notice of making, a plan showing the effect of the order, a statement of reasons for making the order, and the reason for proceeding experimentally can all be inspected until the order ceases to have effect, at the one stop shop at the civic centre, between 9am and 5pm, Mondays to Fridays.
5. The Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the above titled experimental order should be continued indefinitely by permanent order. Any person may object to the making of an order for the purpose of such indefinite continuation, if made within 6 months beginning with the day on which the above cited experimental order came into force.
6. If an order is varied by another order, or modified pursuant to section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, then an objection to the original order as varied or modified shall be made within a 6 month period beginning on the day on which the variation or modification, or the latest variation or modification came into force. Any objection must be in writing within 6 months of the making of this order, stating the grounds on which it is made and be sent to the Head of Traffic, Highways and Asset Management at the address below, quoting reference DP2018-30.
