The cookie has crumbled.

Or in the case of Harrow grime act Black Biscuit, rappers Kevern Moore (Raks) and Dwayne (Littlen) have parted company, despite scooping awards for their music, hundreds of thousands of YouTube hits and headlining festivals.

But from the crumbs of this union, Kevern is carving out a new career for himself as a solo artist – under the guise of K’More, a fusion of his first and last name.

“After five years, Black Biscuit’s journey had just come to an end. It was time for me to explore myself and my music, it was time to go solo,“ Kevern explains.

“I’ve turned my back on grime and I’m going in a new direction. I’m now what you’d call a dancehall act. I’m looking to be the next Sean Paul.“ It’s perhaps not surprising that Kevern has moved away from grime to something more rhythmic. Having grown up in Jamaica, he fondly remembers the rocksteady reggae beats of Bob Marley often filling the streets, and cites the Rastafarian musician as a major influence on his work. He is now set to release his debut single Body Like Dat, independently, which will be available to download at the end of May.

And with the production talents of Ayo, who can count Labrinth, Wretch 32 and Rebecca Fergusson among past collaborators, the single is a blisteringly hot dancehall anthem, ripe to tear up dancefloors both in the UK and overseas.

“I write all my own lyrics, which are all influenced by my life, but saying that, life in general inspires me,“ the 23-year-old says.

“The video for Body Like Dat has already been played on Flava TV, and it should be going to MTV Base soon. It’s also had a few local radio plays which is encouraging too.

“I’ll be performing at Luton Live Lounge, and I’m looking at doing some slots at a couple of festivals too.

“I’m also busy working on a new single for summer, and I’m in talks with Harrow Council about a talent show too.

“Body Like Dat is one of those songs you should have in your catalogue, it makes you want to bounce, it makes you want to move.“ To find out more about K’More visit: www.twitter.com/OfficialKMore or www.youtube.com/kmoreofficial
