A house in Radlett is gaining interest from art lovers as well as househunters.
Greystones, in The Warren, is hosting a pop-up exhibition with paintings and sculptures adorning the halls, walls and garden of the property, with the art, as well as the house itself, on sale.
The project is a collaboration between Potters Bar gallery Art & Escape, the art website Go Figurative and Vision Contemporary Homes.
Director of Art & Escape, Nikki Martin, says combining an exhibition with a property sale is a new venture for the gallery.
“The property developer came into the gallery and said he was developing two properties and would we like to put some art in them,” she says.
“We have used artists who are on our books and who we have collaborated with before.”
The exhibition aims to strike a balance between abstract and figurative art, with the works placed to suit the available space. It is an example of a pop-up exhibition, and will be in place until the property is sold.
“Such temporary displays are becoming increasingly popular, with venues such as empty shops being used for exhibitions.
“We get to take the art to different places and reach a different clientele,” says Nikki. “It helps people to market a property, if they are selling it.”
Greystones is a state-of-the- art, property featuring such gadgets as a multi-room music control system, integral vacuum system and air conditioning.
Nikki adds: “It’s a very high- tech property. It’s not so much of a family home, perhaps more for bachelors or footballers.”
