After six weeks of ups and downs, 144 up and coming comedians were narrowed down to just 15 for the New Variety Lives New Acts of the Year 2015 awards at the Bloomsbury Theatre – with Finchley resident Chris Betts among them.
Chris, originally from Montreal, has a style that is equal parts thoughtful, ridiculous and mischievous and has been entertaining audiences across the UK ever since his arrival from Canada in 2012, including at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Before that, he performed all across Canada and the United States.
The awards ceremony and showcasing event will be hosted by Arthur Smith and promises to be an eclectic evening of inspirational comedy and variety acts.
On the night, a panel of comedy enthusiasts will nominate the Top of the Bill Act for 2015.
Break a leg, Chris!
- Chris Betts will appear in News Acts of the Year 2015, Bloomsbury Theatre, Gordon Street, London WC1H on Sunday, January 25 at 7.30pm. Details: 020 3108 1000, thebloomsbury.com, newvarietylives.com
