DORIS Samuelson

Published on 16/06/2022

SAMUELSON Lady Doris My darling wife (for 72 years) died peacefully in her sleep last April 19th, after enduring years of physical disability and, latterly, debilitating mental illness. Throughout this time of sadness, I have been comforted by memories of our wonderful life together as well as by the presence of the succeeding three generations of our loving family. We have also been truly blessed to have had two outstanding, kindly carers to look after Doris. Since Doris passed away, I feel tremendously fortunate to have received so many letters, cards, emails and calls from wonderful people at home and abroad. Included are many friends from our Jewish and non-Jewish communities, from the supporters of our philanthropic endeavours, and even from former staff of Samuelson companies, some dating back to the mid 1950s when we were still located in Hendon. I thank everybody most sincerely for their correspondence and condolences. I hope you will understand that, due to my 96 year old eyesight, I am not able to reply with appropriate handwritten notes to express my gratitude. I hope you know I deeply appreciate all the well-wishes and I offer my most affectionate greetings. Sydney SAMUELSON.
