Former Hertsmere Mayor Peter Knell has won the Potters Bar East seat in the Hertfordshire County Council elections.
Conservative Mr Knell won 1471 of the public vote.
Labour candidate John Doolan came second with 463, Peter Bonner of the Liberal Democrats won 192, Simon Rhodes for the UK Independence party won 775 and coming in last was Ben Samuel for the Green Party, with 127 votes.
