A boy will have a taste of the glitz and glamour of the West End stage after landing a leading role in Billy Elliot.
Lewis Fernee, who attends Brookmans Park School, Bradmore Way, Potters Bar, will be playing Small Boy at the Victoria Palace Theatre for six months.
The seven-year-old landed the role after winning a scholarship to part-time performing arts school Top Hat in January.
His mother Lynne Fernee said: “Lewis said to me, after I play this role mummy, I want to be Billy.
“It was so nerve-wracking waiting to hear if he had got the part.
“I told Lewis when I picked him up from school and he screamed so loud and said, I can’t believe it mummy.”
