A flock of attractive tropical birds labelled a nuisance by environmentalists have been keeping awake the residents of a Barnet street.
The ring-necked parakeets have been a noisy addition to Holly Park Road, in Friern Barnet, in recent weeks, prompting local photographer Rick Treister to snap some pictures of the birds.
The colourful species, native to hotter countries around the world, are thriving in the UK, so much so that the Department for Environment and Rural Affairs ordered a £90,000 eradication programme in 2011.
