Two men have pleaded not guilty to charges relating to a kidnapping during which shots were fired at police officers.
Police tried to stop a car near junction four of the M1 at approximately 12pm on Saturday, November 16 last year.
They chased the vehicle into Broadhurst Avenue in Edgware, where two men got out.
Shots were fired at officers but no one was injured.
A third man, who is believed to have been kidnapped, was found inside the vehicle. He was not injured.
David Rhoden, 28, and Clayton McKenzie, 36, appeared at St Albans Crown Court on Friday, February 14 charged in connection with the incident.
Mr Rhoden, of Flowers Close, Neasden, pleaded not guilty to kidnap, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and attempted murder.
Meanwhile Mr McKenzie, of High Street, Harlesden, pleaded not guilty to kidnap.
A trial date has not been set.
