A McDonald’s restaurants has launched a new awards scheme for charities and community groups in Barnet.
Atul Pathak has launched the APPT Community Awards as a way to help community schemes receive recognition, funding and help, through partnering with businesses.
Community groups will have the chance to apply until April 30, with awards ranging from £250 to £1,000 in cash as well as assistance from APPT including offices, project volunteers and backroom management on a one-year partnership.
The awards ceremony will be hosted at the Houses of Parliament on June 19.
Applicants do not have to be registered charities, but must show they are doing good in their communities with a sustainable plan for longer term success beyond the one year partnership.
Mr Pathak, who runs 20 McDonald’s, said: “Supporting the community is not about dictating what we think the community needs, it is about supporting the needs of the community.
“I am proud to launch the awards so that I can continue to do my bit to support and help the many excellent local community groups around London that may need that extra helping hand.”
