Councillor Richard Cornelius, the leader of Barnet Conservatives, is quoted as saying: “We look forward to delivering all those services”

following the elections (‘Tories hold on to power despite losses, Times Series, May 29).

Colindale residents, who have yet to vote in the elections, will find this difficult to believe. The council has spent precious little on roads and paving in Colindale. but plenty spent elsewhere.

Barnet has the worst record in London on pot holes — Cllr Cornelius should try driving down Grahame Park Way or Colindale Avenue. Promised health facilities in Colindale Avenue have been dropped and affordable housing plans for new developments have evaporated.

The sell-off of the Peel site will mean sports facilities that local people could have used will be lost forever unless we do something about it. Does he seriously think Colindale residents are looking forward to his “delivery”?
