A grandfather organised a day of sport for a charity close to his heart.
Renzo Rapacioli, of Totteridge, organised a day of golf to raise money for eye charity Fight for Sight.
Mr Rapacioli’s grandson Zach, 11, was diagnosed with Retinis Pigmentosa last year, which can cause blindness.
Over 80 golfers took part in the event, at South Herts Golf Club, Totteridge on Monday, June 9.
Over £20,000 has already been raised from the day, which included a round of 18-hole golf, a four course meal, a raffle and an auction.
Mr Rapacioli said: "A massive thank you to everyone involved who made the first event such a success.
“A special thank you to my friends, family and local businesses who were extremely generous and helped to raise such a great amount that will help support Fight for Sight and the vital work they do.
"Seeing a loved one live with an eye condition is devastating, which is why we’re supporting Fight for Sight. We are hopeful that one day there will be a cure for Zach and others living with the condition."
