If you have previous experience of singing sacred and secular music and it’s something that you’d like to get back into, the new Barnet Chamber Choir wants to hear from you.
The choir will be rehearsing every Wednesday from September 10 and its first performance will take place on Saturday, November 15. The music will include Handel’s famous Zadok the Priest and Parry’s I Was Glad. Local MP Theresa Villiers and Mayor, Councillor Hugh Rayner have been invited, making it a very special occasion.
Founder Rupert Gill says: “We aspire to high standards and will be different from other local groups by virtue of our size; as a chamber choir, we aim to give members the opportunity to perform great smaller scale works, which are often considered too small for larger groups to perform.“ Sheet music will be provided – all you need to do is turn up in good voice.
- Barnet Chamber Choir’s first rehearsal will take place at Church House, Wood Street, Barnet on Wednesday, September 10 from 7.30pm to 9.45pm. Details: thelondonchamberchoir@gmail.com
