Detectives arrested three men after swooping on a £9.5million drug handover.
The drugs were discovered by police who were tracking a Mercedes car in Tarling Road, Finchley, on Sunday.
The man driving the car met others in an Audi car and another man was seen removing two black holdalls, before putting them into a white van.
At this point, police stepped in and arrested the three men involved in the exchange – a 33-year-old, a 48-year-old and a 36-year-old. All remain in custody.
The holdalls contained 40kg of heroin and another two kilos and around £10,000 in cash were found during a second drugs raid at an address in north London.
In total, the street value of the heroin seized would be around £9.5million.
