Hundreds of pupils gathered to mark the official opening of their new school.
The Orion Primary School, in Grahame Park Way, Edgware, held a launch party today, which included balloons, a dance show and an address by Barnet Mayor Councillor Hugh Rayner.
Facilities include a professional theatre, dance and recording studio, known as the Gold Star Centre. It will be shared with Goldbeaters Primary School, in Thirleby Road, Edgware, which joins The Orion to form The Gold Star Federation.
The school cost £15m and will eventually cater for 1,100 pupils. It will also include an autistic spectrum condition unit and a nursery.
Chris Flather, headteacher of The Orion and Goldbeaters, said: “The site is incredibly special and very unique. The children and parents of Orion and Goldbeaters are very, very proud.”
