Snapshots of Barnet’s history stretching back to the 1800s have been made available to view online.
More than 500 images including a picture of Irish labourers laying the tram track from Archway to High Barnet in the 1900s are included in a selection from Barnet Borough Council's picture collection.
It also features a picture of Cherida de Beauvoir, the second British woman to earn her pilot’s licence, sitting in an aeroplane at Hendon Aerodrome in 1910.
Barnet Borough Council’s heritage team, with the help of volunteers, digitally captured the images from the collection.
Hugh Petrie, the council's heritage development officer, said: “The images remind us of how rich and diverse Barnet’s history is, and over the coming months we will be including hundreds more.”
The images, many available as prints, can be seen at http://boroughphotos.org/barnet/
