A mother who tirelessly campaigns about the symptoms of meningitis and cancer was invited to attend a reception at Downing Street.
Julie Tucker, of Mill Way, Mill Hill, met Samantha Cameron the wife of Prime Minister David Cameron, during the event.
The 45-year-old was invited as a result of her work as an ambassador for the Meningitis Research Foundation and Cancer Research UK.
She began volunteering for the meningitis charity after her brother-in-law, Marcel Felimond, died on Boxing Day 2009 after contracting the illness.
