Representatives from embassies across Europe gathered in Golders Green to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day.
The London Jewish Cultural Centre, in North End Road, held a service last Friday to honour survivors who have worked with the centre over the years and inspired young people across the UK and beyond.
Representatives from the Polish, German, Austrian and Romanian embassies attended, along with Finchley and Golders Green MP Mike Freer, Mayor of Barnet Councillor Hugh Rayner, survivors and friends of the centre.
Special contributors to the commemoration included Dame Janet Suzman and musician Simon Lasker Wallfisch.
Holocaust Memorial Day takes place on January 27 each year, with the theme for the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz this year being 'keep the memory alive'.
A commemoration service was also held at Middlesex University, in Hendon, last week.
