I am writing in response to an article in your paper on January 29 (‘Protest against regeneration takes to the streets’, Times Series).
I am absolutely disgusted to think that hard-working people and their families are being treated like this. It cannot go on, there is too much of it. These profit-making developers need cutting down to size.
The next government in power must put a stop to such exploitation of those who cannot afford it. London, unless something is done, will become a place where only millionaires will be able to afford to live. People such as nurses, care workers, teachers, and cleansing officers, who keep our streets clean and remove rubbish, will have nowhere they can afford to live. Will the millionaires do these jobs? I don’t think so.
