Plans for a waste and vehicle depot in New Southgate will be debated tomorrow night.
Barnet Borough Council is negotiating buying the Abbots Depot site, in Oakleigh Road South, to store its rubbish trucks when it moves out of its Mill Hill depot in December 2016.
The site would also include a fuel station and a bulking facility for food waste and rubbish.
Proposals have also been put forward to buy the lease for the Winters Haulage site next to the depot, which will also be discussed when the council meets at Hendon Town Hall tomorrow.
More than 800 people have so far signed a petition opposing the plans, which cites fears from neighbours about smell, noise, pollution and traffic.
The meeting will start at 7pm.
