People are encouraged to hold street parties to celebrate Victory in Europe Day (VE Day) on May 8.
VE Day marks the unconditional surrender of Nazi forces in 1945, ending World War Two in Europe.
Barnet Council is encouraging people to hold street parties on Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10, and will waive its administration fee in return for five people pledging to help throw the party.
There is no fee to hold one and the deadline for applications in Friday, May 1.
It is up to organisers to carry out risk assessments and decide whether they need to arrange their own public liability insurance.
Chief executive of Barnet Council, Andrew Travers, said: “Street parties have become increasingly popular in Barnet since the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in 2011 and we as a council are keen to support residents who wish to organise parties.”
An application form can be downloaded at www.barnet.gov.uk/streetparties
