I wish to thank the kind people who helped me some weeks ago when I fell whilst taking my usual walk.
I started out from home, into Mays Lanes and onto the footpath in Dollis Valley Way. I felt the wind becoming stronger and turned to go home, but it was too strong for me. I lost my balance and fell backwards, hitting my head on the kerb.
There seemed to be no one around when I called for help, but a young lad came and sat beside me and called for an ambulance.
Soon a crowd gathered and two young ladies took off their jackets to cover me, and when it started to rain some umbrellas were held over me. I was overwhelmed by such kindness.
A gentleman drove round to my home to fetch my daughter.
The ambulance took a long time to arrive but in spite of the rain everyone stayed, including the young lad.
I don’t know who any of these people are but hope that through your newspaper I can send them an enormous thank you for their care and kindness. God bless you all and keep you safe.
