A brass band joined library campaigners as they staged a third march through Barnet in protests at cuts to the borough’s library service.
Starting at The Spires shopping centre on Saturday, where the London Metropolitan Brass band performed for the crowd, the Save Barnet Libraries group marched to East Barnet Library, before the march ended at Osidge Library.
Both libraries are under threat of closure under Barnet Council’s proposals to save money.
Author Mike Carey spoke to the crowd, along with Labour candidate for Chipping Barnet, AM Trevethan, the Green Party’s candidate for Chipping Barnet, AM Poppy, and Lib Dem candidate for Hendon Alasdair Hill.
The final march will take place from South Friern Library to North Finchley, via East Finchley and Church End, at 11am on May 9.
