A far-right activist has claimed Neo-Nazis will destroy Israeli flags and burn Talmud books at a rally in Golders Green.

Joshua Bonehill-Paine, who advocates “white rights” and eugenics, wrote on his website that extremists at the rally on July 4 will destroy the flags in a protest against Israel.

He says that a private ceremony will take place beforehand where copies of the religious scrolls will be set light and flags will be “dismembered by hand”.

The self-proclaimed fascist said further demonstrations will take place in Finchley and other areas as part of their “anti-Jewification” initiative later this year.

Jay Stoll, public affairs director at the London Jewish Forum, said: “What he is doing will cause great offence to the Jewish community. We are hoping he will not be there on the day, because it will cause further problems.”

The Metropolitan Police confirmed Mr Bonehill-Paine was arrested in February after being accused of sending online abuse to Jewish Labour MP Luciana Berger.

There is uncertainty as to whether he will attend because he claims on his website police have banned him from entering the M25.

A police spokesman said: “Officers investigating allegations of malicious communications sent to a Member of Parliament via a social media network have arrested a man.

“The man, aged 22, was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated harassment and malicious communications at an address in Yeovil, Somerset on Friday, February 13 2015.

“He was also arrested on suspicion of inciting racial hatred.

“He is bailed to return to a west London police station pending further enquiries - next due early July.”

The Prime Minister said last week protesters at the rally should face the “full force of the law” if they commit any criminal offences and demonstrate anti-Semitic hostility.

Earlier this month, The London Jewish Forum and anti-fascist group Hope not Hate launched the Golders Green Together campaign to unite communities and celebrate diversity before the demonstration.
