A MAN has died after he was hit by a train at Potters Bar station.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 1pm today.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “We were called to Potters Bar rail station on Tuesday, 22 December to a report of a person hit by a train.
“Our officers attended the incident, which was reported at 1.09pm, with colleagues from Hertfordshire Police.
“Medics from East of England Ambulance Service also attended a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Officers are now working to identify the man and inform his family.”
Trains are delayed by up to 30 minutes between Kings Cross/Moorgate and Stevenage, and stations between Alexandra Palace and Knebworth will not be served.
