YOUNG people interested in standing for the UK Youth Parliament are encouraged to put themselves forward.
Barnet has four positions available in the 2016/17 parliament, which is made up of members from across the country representing their areas and debating the issues that matter to them.
Around 11,000 young people from across the borough voted in last year’s elections, in which 35 candidates, aged 11 to 18, put themselves forward.
To stand, candidates must register and submit a manifesto online by February 5. Campaigns cannot be party political based.
Voting will take place from February 22 to March 7, with the results announced on March 14.
A candidate information session will also take this Wednesday (January 13) at Hendon Town Hall from 5.30pm to 9pm.
