CHILDREN who have been learning about what it means to live in a democratic society welcomed the Mayoress of Barnet.
Pupils at Edgware Primary School, in Heming Road, Edgware, have spent this term learning about British values.
They were taught about democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs.
They also welcomed Mayoress of Barnet Melissa Shooter who told them about the role and showed them the different robes.
Head teacher Alison Jacob said: βIt was a joy to see our children, who are from many different cultures, celebrate being British.β
