KEEN sports fans got the chance to come face to face with the premier football trophy in a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Excited students at East Barnet’s St Andrew the Apostle School got to see the Barclays Premier League trophy close up after winning a competition run by Barclays.
Deputy Headteacher Mike Michael, said, “We always encourage our students to enjoy sport and seeing the Barclays Premier League trophy in our school was not only an amazing experience; it demonstrated to them the values of working hard, doing one’s best, fair play and teamwork.
“For the really keen football fans, it was the next best thing to actually winning the trophy.”
The school was nominated for the visit by parent Michael Pieri.
St Andrew the Apostle School is a Russell Education Trust free school, set up to support inclusive schools with high academic standards. The Trust is funded by Education London (EL).
