MEMBERS of Finchley's Victoria bowling club will launch the borough's first croquet club this month.
The club will be officially opened by Barnet Mayor Cllr David Longstaff from 2pm this Saturday August 27.
Club member Gary Bargroff, said despite the club fighting plans for car park spaces on their green lawns, this idea had gathered a lot of interest in the community.
Mr Bargroff said: “We are the only croquet Club in the local area.
“On the day we will have a number of experienced Croquet trainers there to provide everybody who wishes, a free practice to see if you enjoy it.
“Don't worry because we will provide all the equipment. Why not give it a try, you may just get hooked on the game.”
The day will be officially opened by Barnet Mayor Cllr David Longstaff at 2pm.
Spaces are limited, and if you are interested, call organiser Gary Bargroff on 07956 546457.
