Black History Month is set to end in style with a spectacular celebration in Hendon.
Genesis housing association will host a celebration of culture including African dance and drumming, a fashion show, singers, speakers and soul food at Barnet multicultural centre in Algernon Road on Tuesday, November 1.
The event will be launched by the mayor at 1pm following a lunch starting at midday.
It is being thrown with the help of Outreach Barnet, Barnet African and Caribbean Association (BACA), Homeless Action in Barnet and the NHS Trust.
Black History Month is an annual celebration of black culture and remembrance of important people and events in black history, observed every October in the UK.
The event is open to everyone in the community and people can register their interest by calling 0203 115 1185.
A £3 contribution will buy a £1 raffle ticket and lunch worth £5.50 on the day.
