The man accused of killing an 80-year-old grandmother found dead on an allotment will face trial in July.

Rahim Mohammadi, 40, of Goldsmiths Row in Shoreditch was charged on Sunday (Mar 5) with the murder of Lea Adri-Soejoko.

The pensioner, who was strangled with a ligature, was discovered last Tuesday (Feb 28) in a lock-in at the Colindale allotments in Sheaveshill Avenue where she was secretary.

Mohammadi appeared at the Old Bailey assisted by an interpreter.

The bearded defendant spoke to confirm his name.

A provisional trial date of July 10 was set with a plea hearing on May 23.
