A much loved Barnet resident has died after a short illness.
Margaret Dunn of Chesterfield Road lived in the area for nearly 70 years and regularly attended the Barnet Roman Catholic Church in Union Street.
Mrs Dunn, who was 75, gave a great deal of her time to caring for others, most notably the elderly, working as a nurse and care home manager in Barnet, Finchley and Hendon before her retirement.
“She was a popular and much loved person at the centre of a large extended family, and will be sorely missed by family and friends,” said her son-in-law David Jervis.
Mrs Dunn was born Margaret Houlihan in April 1941 in Dundee before moving with her parents, two sisters and brother to Mill Hill after the war.
She leaves husband Fred, children Stephen, Frances and Nicki, siblings Marie and Thomas along with her six grandchildren.
Her funeral took place at the Church of Mary Immaculate, New Barnet, on Thursday.
