Torah scrolls were stolen from Mill Hill rabbis on Wednesday afternoon.
Thieves stole two scrolls, which were kept in a grey, metal cabinet in the home of Rabbis Dr Jackie Tabick and Larry Tabick and belong to the Shir Hayim Reform community in Hampstead.
Mrs Tabick said: “We imagine that the thieves will have been most disappointed when they opened the cabinet.
No jewellery, just two scrolls, and we assume that they probably have thrown away the cabinet and the scrolls."
The scrolls have gold embroidered Hebrew letters, while one has a blue mantle and the other a red mantle.
Police believe they may have been discarded in the area, and ask those with information to contact 101.
