An influential figure in football visited a school in Barnet to inspire pupils.
David Dein, former Arsenal FC and FA vice-chairman, spoke to schoolgirls at Copthall School about his time in sport and the importance of education.
He said to the pupils: “Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.
“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.”
The talk was part of the Speakers4Schools initiative, where professionals visit state secondary schools to encourage young people with their ambitions.
