A pub has been crowned Community Pub of the Year after being transformed by its new owners.
The Chandos Arms in Colindale Avenue, Colindale was awarded the gong at the John Smiths Great British Pub Awards, which took place in Park Lane in London.
Three years ago licensees Emily and Are Kolltveit took over the run-down pub and invested £50,000 into its refurbishment, introducing food and events to support local charities and the community.
Ms Kolltveit said: "The award is a real recognition of all the hard work that has gone into turning round the Chandos Arms.
"It also recognises how much Colindale residents want a local pub and the tremendous support and involvement they’ve put into reviving it."
She added that the overwhelming feedback they have received has led them to plan a celebration party "due to popular demand."
The pair plan to launch the pub as an official drop off for foodbank donations, and are looking for non-perishables to be dropped off there during opening hours from now.
