New buses for the people of Hertfordshire have been unveiled.
The Mayor of Welwyn Hatfield Cllr Lynne Sparks launched the new Comet buses at the University of Hertfordshire on Friday, with their name coming from the first commercial jetliner manufactured at the Hatfield Aerodrome, now part of the university campus.
The buses are the product of a £1.3m investment from Uno and begin running today.
Cllr Sparks said: "Bus travel is an essential way for residents to get around Welwyn Hatfield and beyond, and the new buses will ensure that journeys are more pleasant, whilst also being better for the environment."
The buses will run every 30 minutes, picking up passengers between the university, Hatfield, Barnet, Edgware and Queensbury on the 614 and 644 routes.
