A TV chef and model spoke to pupils about confidence.
TV chef Lorraine Pascale spoke to pupils at Whitefield School in Claremont Road, Brent Cross, about low self-esteem and how to boost your self confidence after pupil Shannon Higgins contacted her directly.
Sixth Form pupil Piotr Chrzanowski said: "This empowered us and showed us how important self-confidence and believing in your dreams is.
"We were all touched by her story, but it also she motivated us to work hard for what we want to achieve despite of the obstacles in our lives."
Ms Pascale, who was adopted as a child, experienced many hardships after her mother became ill and she was moved between foster homes, but ended up become an international model before settling in London and taking cookery courses, leading her to her final career as a successful TV chef.
