We’ve seen Disney’s Tangled, and heard the fairy tales, but an inclusive theatre company is giving us the wonder of Rapunzel like we’ve never known it before.

Chickenshed’s new musical production of Rapunzel, the perfect show for the festive season, is set to re-tell the classic fairytale in a mysterious, romantic and life-affirming way, making you rethink the story you thought you knew.

In the new musical, Rapunzel has little memory of her life before the town but yearns to be free. She is desperate to explore the surrounding woods, no matter what the cost.

But while her famously long locks give her incredible powers, she comes to learn that the true power is the strength that comes from within, which she may need sooner than she expects as unexpected strangers arrive and promise to turn her world upside down.

Featuring Chickenshed’s famously large and diverse cast, this magical version of Rapunzel will dazzle and delight children and adults alike.

Chickenshed are known for their beautiful Christmas performances, and this is not the only one set to rock the theatre.

The company’s Tales from the Shed team are putting on an especially festive production called Christmas Tales, a puppet show which takes all the group’s usual fun and silliness and supersizes it for very young theatre-goers.

This production will also be taken to the Dugdale Centre in Enfield to give more children the chance to experience the fun and wonderment of Christmas.

Rapunzel plays from November 22 until January 6 at the Rayne Theatre, Chickenshed, Chase Side, Southgate, N14 4PE. Tickets are available at chickenshed.org.uk
