A TV show is looking for the brightest sparks to audition.

Child Genius, the Channel 4 reality show hosted by Richard Osman, is looking for eight-12 year olds to take part in the next series.

The show pits young brainboxes against one another over a course of weeks in a series of exams, culminating in a quiz final with friends and family looking on.

Barnet's Rahul Doshi, who was 12 when he won the competition, said: "Child Genius was a fun, exciting challenge that I would definitely recommend taking part in.

"It was exhilarating and especially the part when you had to answer questions at the podium and I would jump at the opportunity to do it again. As well as this, you also get to meet other clever children of a similar age to you and you are able to share your hobbies and interests with them.

"So in summary, if you enjoy a challenge, performing under pressure as well as meeting new people then Child Genius is definitely for you - go for it!"

The show is also holding a Mensa-backed open day on January 27 to explain more about the show and to give children the chance to take part in some quizzes and strategy puzzles.
