A 19-year-old was "ruthlessly gunned down" by a man on the back of a moped.

Kelvin Odunuyi, of Barnet, was killed in a shooting in Wood Green on March 8.

During the incident the he was shot in the head as a gunman on the back of a moped fired several rounds at Kelvin before speeding off.

Police in Haringey were called to the scene in Hollywood Green, Wood Green at 12:32am, March 8.

He was taken by ambulance to a central London hospital where he died a short while later.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder March 11 during an armed raid.

He was later released but not charged.

Officers from the Met's Homicide and Major Crime Command continue to investigate.

Detective Chief Inspector Luke Marks said: “Kelvin was a young man not yet out of his teens when he was ruthlessly gunned down, leaving his family utterly devastated and bereft.

"Enquiries have led us to believe that a pillion passenger on a moped that had mounted the pavement fired several shots in Kelvin's direction before speeding off.

"It is vital that we identify the people behind this shooting, and would urge anyone with information about Kelvin's murder to come forward."
