Update: Met Police has confirmed that Fidel Knight has been located and he has returned to hospital

Police are appealing for help in tracing a man who left a hospital where he was being treated for a serious head injury.

Fidel Knight, 39, of Cricklewood disappeared from St Mary's Hospital in Paddington with a family member at 8pm on Tuesday.

A hospital order is in place which requires police to return him for urgent medical treatment when he is found.

Mr Knight was assaulted on April 4 in Cricklewood Lane and an investigation has been launched. There have been no arrests.

A disorientated man matching Mr Knight’s description was spotted at Starbucks in Muswell Hill Broadway on Thursday.

He is described as very thin and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black jacket. He may still be wearing a bandage over his head or his eye.

Although he has no previous history of violence, police say he may be agitated if approached due to his injury.
