A man was hit by a police car during a high-speed chase moments after he crashed the car he was driving and tried to run away.
The 49-year-old crashed into a bush in Finchley Road, near Childs Hill, at 3 am this morning after officers tried to make him stop.
But as he got out of his car he was hit by the police car. He was then arrested.
He was given first-aid before an ambulance could arrive and remains in stable condition in hospital.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed, and the Independent Police Complaints Commission was notified.
Finchley Road was shut for several hours after the incident, and it is now open with traffic moving as normal.
