Hard work and persistence brought continued success to pupils at a school.
Samuel Ryder Academy hailed continued success in its results, which were announced yesterday.
Among those who excelled were Makenzie Wortley, Ami Puddephatt and Jessica Wood, who each have a number of level 9 grades, which have replaced A*s.
Makenzie said: "Thanks to all my teachers, I'm so pleased with my results and I can't wait to start my A-levels"
Assistant head teacher Steven Finn said: "Samuel Ryder Academy 2018 GCSE results are once again excellent and we are extremely proud of our students’ achievements. We are delighted that our students and staff have ensured continued success.
"Our students should feel delighted with their achievements and take confidence that their hard work, persistence and resilience has delivered excellent results that will serve them well in the future.
"We are thrilled with their level of performance and excited that some students achieved the top grade 9, which is especially praiseworthy."
