Thousands of people took part in an annual race to raise money for a cancer charity.

People flocked to Moor Park for the 10k fun run.

The event supports the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Cancer Centre at Mount Vernon Hospital in Northwood. To date, the event has raised £25,000 for the cause, but the exact amount from this year's race is still being counted.

The 10k was won by Jeremy Hunt with the ladies’ race won by Helen Mussen for the third time.

Seven races for young runners were held over two hours with fierce competition at the finishing line.

The children were representing their schools and team trophies were awarded to the winning team in each age group.

All finishers received special commemorative medals.

The 2012 shield, awarded to the school which entered most children, was given to Charlotte House Preparatory School.

GB athletics international runners, Ellis Cross and Luke Prior, led the warm-ups for the junior events.
