Full story: Appeal for key witness after women racially abused

A man allegedly yelled racial abuse at two women before he was chased away.

Scores of officers were called to Watford Junction at around 6pm last night after reports the man had a knife.

Police were initially called at 5.35pm to Reeds Crescent, behind the station, to reports a man had abused two women before running away.

He was thought to have a knife on him but two witnesses began chasing the man towards Watford Junction.

A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence and common assault. He remains in custody.

No knife was found on him.
