The Mayor of Elstree & Borehamwood hosted a soul filled jazz night complete with a three course French inspired menu for more than 100 guests.

Cllr Victor Eni was joined by his wife, Martine, for the event on Wednesday at Fairway Hall, in Borehamwood, which was in aid of Hertsmere Mencap, a charity dedicated to supporting people living with disabilities.

Hertsmere Mencap provides support and advice along with daily activities for adults with learning disabilities. Arts and crafts, music and drama, indoor tennis and aerobics are just some of the workshops that are offered to adults with learning disabilities at a highly subsidised rate.

Cllr Victor Eni said: “I have chosen Hertsmere Mencap as my charity of the year because of their hard work to support our friends with a learning disability in our community. Every day they help people reach their potential and encourage them away from isolation.

“Everyone should be valued equally and I am proud to be part of a charity that seeks to achieve that aim. I would also like to thank Chef Jean Luc Sainlo who cooked up the most wonderful meal for a fraction of what he should have charged us.”
